Various Cartilage Rhinoplasty Techniques: What is currently the best rhinoplasty technique? At the 25th Dallas Rhinoplasty Symposium held in Dallas, Texas, USA, in 2008, top plastic surgeons from around the world gave a unanimous answer——cartilage techniques. Cartilage techniques mainly include rib cartilage rhinoplasty, ear cartilage rhinoplasty, septal cartilage rhinoplasty, and the recently popular semi-rib cartilage rhinoplasty technique.

Rib Cartilage Rhinoplasty: Because low and short noses are common among Asians, septal cartilage is far from sufficient; therefore, rib cartilage rhinoplasty, with its abundant source and sufficient supporting strength, has become mainstream in Asian rhinoplasty. Dr. Guo Yong uses unique harvesting and sculpting techniques to reduce the incision for rib cartilage harvest to approximately 1 cm. The problem of postoperative rib cartilage warping and deformation has also been well addressed.
